With 15 years worth of frequent flyer miles from spinning fans of dance, trance and house around the country and across continents, “TheBandit” is cashing in, upgrading and, in near trademark style, upping his game beyond the live arena.

“Over the years, DEREK played a fundamental role in the establishing the dance scene in South Africa, his enthusiasm and energy will be missed.” Spiro Damaskinos – DJ/Sony BMG

His bags are packed, he’s ready to level dance floors across South Africa for one last time. March will be an emotional and adrenaline filled trip up and down memory lane as Derek dishes out what he’s famous for – delivering the finest in dance music live!

“I have had such a wonderful journey and I thank everyone that has supported me through out the years! Life is ever changing and it’s time to hang up my headphones when it comes to live performances. I will continue to produce the finest PODCASTS for the world to enjoy!”

The Farewell tour promises to not only celebrate “TheBandit’s” technique and ability that’s made him instrumental and an indispensable player in the dance community and entertainment industry over close on two decades, but also guarantee a party like no other.

DEREK“TheBandit” has been a pioneer in the South African dance music scene since the early 90’s – he presented the biggest dance radio show on 5FM at the time called ‘The World of Dance’, released various successful dance compilation albums and headlined some of the biggest dance events in the country.  DTB has been instrumental in putting dance music squarely on the map in South Africa over the last 15 years.” – Karl Anderson – Just Music

His 19 years of radio experience coupled with the often first-to-market leaps and bounds into the digital domain remain with promises of even more of the best, only now exclusively virtual.
